Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck — unsure how to keep caring for others while also taking care of themselves. If you’re a caregiver, or someone struggling with self-confidence and emotional stress, you don’t have to navigate it alone. My name is Clint, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving clients in Florida and Alabama. I specialize in supporting caregivers of older adults and individuals with disabilities, as well as helping adults strengthen self-esteem and build lasting confidence. As a former primary caregiver for my father, I understand firsthand the emotional weight that caregiving can carry. Managing appointments, coordinating resources, and coping with guilt or exhaustion can leave little room for your own well-being. Since 2011, I’ve worked alongside caregivers and families to reduce burnout, set healthier boundaries, and restore a sense of balance and support. I also help individuals who feel held back by self-doubt, anxiety, or depression. Together, we identify unhelpful patterns, develop practical coping skills, and build confidence that carries into daily life, relationships, and decision-making. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and focused on practical tools you can use outside of sessions. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. The first session is simply a chance for us to talk, understand what’s been weighing on you, and see if working together feels like a good fit — with no pressure or expectations. If this sounds like what you’re looking for, I’d be honored to support you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Starting therapy can feel uncertain, so it’s important to know what to expect from your first session. Our initial meeting is focused on creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable being yourself and sharing at your own pace. We’ll take time to get to know one another, discuss what brings you to therapy, and explore the concerns that may be affecting your well-being. Together, we’ll begin identifying patterns, strengths, and goals, and start developing a thoughtful plan tailored to your needs. By the end of our first session, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of your challenges, a sense of direction moving forward, and reassurance that you don’t have to face this alone. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the path ahead.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach to therapy is grounded in a thoughtful balance of clinical expertise and genuine compassion. I believe meaningful change happens when clients feel both understood and supported, while also being guided with practical, evidence-based tools. I strive to create a safe, trusting environment where you can openly explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without fear of judgment. Through empathy, collaboration, and clear direction, I help clients face challenges with courage and clarity. By combining insight with encouragement, I empower individuals to build confidence, develop healthy coping strategies, and move forward with resilience. My goal is not only to help you navigate difficult moments, but to support you in creating lasting, positive change in your life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) through the Association of Psychological Therapies. CBT is an evidence-based approach that helps clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. Through this process, clients learn practical skills to manage anxiety, depression, and stress more effectively, develop healthier coping strategies, and build lasting resilience. CBT empowers clients to create meaningful, sustainable improvements in their emotional well-being and daily functioning.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a compassionate, evidence-based approach that helps people build a more meaningful life — even when difficult thoughts or emotions are present. Rather than trying to eliminate anxiety, sadness, or stress, ACT teaches skills for changing how we relate to these experiences so they no longer control our choices. In ACT, clients learn to gently step back from unhelpful thought patterns, develop greater emotional flexibility, and reconnect with what truly matters to them. Through mindfulness, self-awareness, and values-guided action, therapy focuses on helping people move toward the life they want to live instead of getting stuck in struggle or avoidance. Many people find ACT empowering because it emphasizes acceptance, self-compassion, and practical steps toward living with purpose, resilience, and authenticity — even during challenging seasons of life.

Strength-Based

Using a strength-based therapy approach helps bolster self-esteem by identifying, validating, and building upon a person’s existing abilities, values, and successes. By shifting focus away from deficits and toward personal strengths, individuals develop a more balanced and compassionate self-view, which directly counteracts the negative self-talk common in depression. As self-esteem improves, clients often experience increased hope, motivation, and a sense of competence. This approach also addresses anxiety by enhancing confidence in one’s capacity to cope with stressors and challenges. Recognizing past resilience and effective coping skills reduces feelings of helplessness and fear of failure. Over time, strength-based therapy fosters empowerment, emotional regulation, and a greater sense of control, helping to alleviate symptoms of both depression and anxiety.

Interpersonal

Relationships are complicated—while they can bring meaning and fulfillment, they can also create stress and emotional challenges. Through interpersonal therapy, clients explore relationship patterns, strengthen communication skills, and develop healthier ways of connecting with others. This approach helps clients balance empathy for others with honoring their own needs and emotional well-being.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

There are times when clients are limited by the amount of sessions that they are able to have. In these scenarios, it is important that we work together to define a goal and outline the steps to get there as soon as possible. That is why in all my initial sessions, I explain to my clients that we have to define the issue, establish a plan of care, and monitor that plan regardless of how many sessions they have available to them. I believe that it is very important for clients to know that there is a solution and that we are making measurable progress towards it.
