About me

I am a licensed therapist in North Carolina with over 35 years of professional experience. I have extensive experience supporting clients through stress and anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma and abuse, and concerns related to motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. In addition to traditional therapeutic approaches, I also offer spiritual counseling, with a particular focus on Christian perspectives for those who desire it. I respect each client’s individual beliefs and integrate spiritual support only when it aligns with their values and goals. My approach centers on creating a safe, open, and nonjudgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and emotions freely. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and joyful life, and I deeply honor that step. My role is to support and empower you as you move toward healing, growth, and a stronger sense of purpose. Together, we’ll work to uncover your strengths, build resilience, and help you move toward the life you envision.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I am told that I am incredibly easy to talk to and will attempt to make you comfortable. I also will attempt to make this enjoyable and a learning experience for you. We can go at whatever pace you would like.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I hope my warmth and openness are the greatest first impressions. I pride myself in my ability to teach and also to learn from my clients. I like to give examples, stories and metaphors to help people envision change. I am told that many people feel at ease with me very quickly.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with people who are not afraid to talk through their fears, feelings, hopes and dreams. I am open minded and nonjudgemental, but I am not all knowing so I may need to ask about your culture, your prejudices and your spiritual beliefs in order to get to know you. I love to listen, teach and explore.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This is my preferred treatment modality because largely how we think controls our feelings. When we can reframe situations so that we are not blaming ourselves or someone else we can more easily overcome challenges and obstacles.
