As a client of mine, you should expect a learning and judgment free space. A space where you will be understandably hesitant yet free and understood. I've dedicated my career to becoming a better therapist for my clients by learning about other cultures and aspects of life that contribute to our mental health. In our work together, I aim to provide the best approaches to reach your goals and ultimately leave feeling complete and refreshed. With my years of experience, I have helped many clients and couples understand themselves in different ways than they started and make positive changes that they hoped for. Understanding how difficult it is to be open and vulnerable, it is especially important for me to be patient and increase my abilities with engagement. I strive for understanding, respect and authenticity in all sessions and with all clients.
In our first session together, clients can expect a great listener and observer. A clinician that allows for you to speak while being heard and without judgment. I will validate your concerns and thoughts while also revealing what I have observed and heard. I will be honest and not withhold any assessments made as that is what is pertinent in our first session together.
My greatest strengths as a provider is being relatable and validating. I am exceptionally strong in my ability to see people as a whole and not a product of their trauma. I am great at engagement and getting people to feel comfortable enough to be vulnerable in a safe space.
I have worked with clients who are struggling to find themselves in a world that's so complex. I have impacted those who have allowed- whether consciously or subconsciously- their past trauma to overpower their future. I find myself working best with clients that are opened, vulnerable, honest and ready to tackle their concerns.
I have many years of experience providing treatment utilizing CBT approach- in individual therapy, family therapy and couples counseling. Provide homework for continued practice and track progress.
I have many years working with couples (married and partnerships) I utilize Gottman's approach along with some Christian based faith works.
I have many years providing family therapy. I am trained and experienced with the Functional Family Therapy model which includes 3 phases-- motivation, behavior change and generalization. Families get to understand how everyone plays a part in the conflict they are experiencing and come up with a plan to change behaviors in order to reduce conflict.
I've used this approach in all my years of providing care to people.
I have taken courses and trainings in order to use this approach with clients. I have revealed client's trauma patterns to them in adulthood and how it affects their daily lives. Revealing this information has ultimately led myself and clients to do CBT to limit the effect trauma has ongoing.
