LMFT, 12 years of experience
Hi, I'm Celina. As a second-generation Latina, I bring an informed perspective to the challenges many communities of color face, including the impact of systemic inequities, identity struggles, and cultural barriers. I also know that everyone—no matter their background—can experience moments in life that feel overwhelming. Maybe you’re carrying the weight of past trauma, or maybe the stress of everyday life feels like too much. The important thing to remember is that you don’t have to go through it alone. Reaching out for support is not always easy, but it’s a powerful and courageous step toward healing and growth. For years, I’ve dedicated myself to serving my community in a variety of settings, from community clinics to crisis counseling. I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+, as well as with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma and other life transitions. My work as a 911 crisis counselor especially taught me the importance of holding space during life’s most difficult moments. I believe that everyone's story matters and I’m here to offer a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore and heal. Together, we can build insight, break patterns, and create new paths forward. My goal is to walk beside you on your journey toward wellness so that when you leave, you feel empowered, grounded, and ready for what's ahead.
In our first few sessions, I really want to get to know you and what has led you to seek my support. This will help me develop a tailored plan while we continue sessions together.
We as humans are complex creatures and I am not immune to this complexity. I remember how stressful it was for me to start my journey in therapy. Finding the right fit, hoping to feel heard and not judged, having to be vulnerable; it can be stressful. Taking what I have learned, personally and professionally, has led me to develop strong skills in rapport building, use of mindfulness practices and helping others improve coping skills. Building a strong foundation collaboratively is essential for progress to be made. With how much life changes, it's inevitable that we must continue to be a work in progress. My techniques, my approach, and the time I dedicate to you are important because I know how impactful this journey can be to your future.
My experience has allowed me to serve a vast and diverse population. I am dedicated to those who experience the every day stressors of life, to those who may be facing extreme challenges.
I encourage a non-judgemental approach in observing thoughts, feelings, and emotions. It is through mindfulness and the practice of non-judgement, that allows for more clarity and the opportunity to reduce stress, build better relationships, and gain insight into who we strive to be.
Life is full of many unknowns, which can cause us to feel overwhelmed, feel less in control and challenge our decision making abilities. Through fostering a safe space, finding alternative ways to problem solve, and confronting resistance, we can make perceive the world differently and more importantly, have a better understanding of who we are and how we fit in.
