LCSW, 6 years of experience
Hello, my name is Amber Martin, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) practicing in Texas. I earned my Master of Social Work from Colorado State University and have over six years of experience in the field. I specialize in supporting adults navigating life stress, depression, anxiety, and trauma. In sessions, I integrate person-centered therapy, solution-focused strategies, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), tailoring each approach to meet the unique needs of my clients. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment where individuals feel empowered to heal, grow, and build resilience. I am passionate about helping clients discover their strengths, achieve self-discovery, and create lasting positive change.
Our first session will begin with introductions and a conversation about what brought you to therapy. We’ll complete a thorough intake assessment so I can better understand your needs, history, and goals. Together, we’ll use that information to create a personalized treatment plan that will guide our work and set the foundation for meaningful progress.
My greatest strength as a therapist is building genuine connection. I believe every therapist is unique, just as every client is, and that sense of connection is essential for healing. By fostering trust, safety, and understanding, I create a supportive space where clients feel comfortable exploring their struggles, while also encouraging them to grow beyond what they thought was possible.
I enjoy working with adults who may feel weighed down by life’s challenges but are seeking a path toward healing and growth. My ideal clients are those struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, or the impact of domestic violence. I believe that each person already carries the strength needed to overcome their struggles, and together we can uncover that resilience, set meaningful goals, and take steps toward living with greater balance, purpose, and hope.
Each individual’s experiences are unique, and their path to healing should reflect that. My person-centered approach allows me to meet clients where they are, honoring their story and supporting them in moving forward at their own pace.
Solution-Focused Therapy provides clients with practical tools and strategies to uncover their inner strengths and resilience. Rather than focusing only on problems, this approach emphasizes possibilities and progress. Clients are encouraged to recognize what is already working in their lives, build on those successes, and discover their own capacity to create solutions to the challenges they face.
With Trauma-Focused CBT, I work alongside clients to address the emotional and psychological effects of trauma. By blending evidence-based techniques with a compassionate, client-centered approach, TF-CBT helps reduce trauma-related symptoms, strengthen coping skills, and empower individuals to move forward with a renewed sense of safety and hope.
