LCSW, 14 years of experience
I am a solution-focused and strengths-based therapist with 11 years of licensed clinical experience. I am dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate life's challenges through compassionate care. Everyone is on their own unique path and sometimes we all need a little help along the way. I believe in empowering clients by helping them recognize their inherent abilities and guiding them toward healing and growth. Utilizing a client-centered approach, I honor each person's experiences and focus on supporting them to achieve their goals. Whether addressing the past, present or future; together we will build on abilities and cultivate skills to thrive in all aspects of life.
The initial session is a brief introduction to the therapeutic process and getting to know one another. I will ask about your strengths and challenges while discussing what brought you to therapy. We will touch on your past experiences as well as the present. I may even ask about your future aspirations. Through our conversation, I will start to form a plan on how we could best work together toward your goals.
I am an empathic and solution focused listener. I strive to help clients recognize their own strengths and how these can be applied to tackle the challenges life can bring.
I enjoy working with adults who may be stuck or need that person who can provide fresh perspective and empathic support. My clients are the experts in their own lives and I respect their strengths and wish to work collaboratively along side them to help them achieve their goals. They may feel anxious, depressed, overwhelmed or isolated by their challenges.
CBT can help clients recognize thoughts and behaviors in order to change their outcomes. In this approach we will work toward resolution through a series of activities to identify actions, behaviors, and consequences. I have been trained in and practiced this method since 2007.
I am trained in the Gottman method and strongly believe that first we must seek to understand and then we can improve our communication and connections. Through therapy, couples can expect fluid discussion, exercises to enrich understanding and insight while expanding empathy and connection. I've worked with couples since 2015 and find that growing together is the best path forward.
This therapy is a direct approach to changing those thoughts or behaviors that don't align with our goals. Rational emotive behavior therapy encourages individuals to recognize those thoughts or actions that aren't helpful and approach their issues in a more immediate and solution focused manner. I am trained in this methodology and practiced it since 2007.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment does exactly as the name implies - goes for the solutions in the issue and knocks down the barriers to our success. This therapy is best delivered in 6 sessions or less and is for those who are ready to take immediate action and find solutions that work for their individual issues.
I approach every client from a strengths based approach because they are the expert in their lives. We will work to build on their inherent strengths and find solutions that fit their individual journey.
