New to Grow
Hello, and welcome. I know that reaching out for help isn’t always easy, and I want to acknowledge your courage in taking this step. My approach to therapy is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and a deep respect for your personal story. I work best with adults and young adults who are navigating communication and relationship issues, addictions, anxiety, depression, life transitions, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of Minnesota. If you’re struggling with feelings of overwhelm, self-doubt, or just need a space to sort through what’s weighing on you, I’m here to listen and walk alongside you. Together, we’ll explore what’s holding you back and find practical ways to move forward. Our sessions are conversational, relaxed, and focused on what matters most to you. I believe in tailoring our work to fit your needs, whether that means building coping skills, improving relationships, or finding clarity during difficult times. I’m especially passionate about supporting clients who feel lost, isolated, or unsure about their next steps. If you value honesty, openness, and want a therapist who will meet you with genuine care, you’ll likely feel at home here. However, my style may not be the best fit for those seeking highly structured, directive therapies or those who prefer a more clinical, formal atmosphere. I want to be upfront so you can make the best choice for yourself. Whether you’re new to therapy or returning, I invite you to reach out. I’m here to support you, wherever you are on your journey.
Thank you for taking the important step of reaching out for support. Beginning therapy is a courageous decision, and I want to assure you that your peace of mind is my priority as we start this journey together. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Minnesota. My background and training allow me to provide kind, trustworthy, ethical care as you explore your goals and challenges. My approach is always respectful, warm, and empathetic. I believe in a client-centered philosophy, which means you are at the heart of our work. Your unique experiences and needs will guide our sessions, and I will listen without judgment, honoring your perspective every step of the way. I use a variety of therapeutic modalities to best suit your needs, including acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness practices. We will choose strategies together that make sense for you, ensuring flexibility and personalized care. During your first session, you can expect a safe space for open communication. Building trust is essential, and I am committed to creating a supportive environment where you feel heard and valued. I will start by getting to know you and your story, inviting you to share at your own pace. We’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, your hopes and goals, and answer any questions you might have, so you feel informed and comfortable. Each session will be tailored to your individual needs and strengths. I encourage you to use your own resources and abilities, and together we will find pathways toward growth and well-being. I am here to support you, and my goal is to empower you as we work together. The therapeutic relationship is a partnership, and I look forward to helping you discover positive change. Thank you again for choosing to begin this journey. I am excited to meet you and help you take the next steps toward healing and hope.
Hello, I’m so glad you’re here. I believe seeking support is a brave and important step. My goal is to offer a safe, welcoming space where you can explore challenges, build on your strengths, and move toward the life you want. I work from a client-centered perspective, which means I listen deeply and tailor our sessions to what matters most to you. I strive to be warm, honest, and collaborative, meeting you where you are and working together at your pace. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a partnership built on trust. In our work together, I draw from evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness, always adapting my approach to fit your unique experiences. Sessions are practical and focused on helping you understand patterns, develop coping skills, and notice positive changes in your daily life. I also encourage feedback so we can adjust as your needs evolve. I’m passionate about supporting adults 18 and up who are navigating addictions, anxiety, life transitions, relationship concerns, stress, or self-esteem issues. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure about your next steps, I’m here to help. I have experience working with college students, professionals, and individuals seeking greater self-understanding or work-life balance and adults struggling with addictions. Clients often share that they feel heard and understood in our sessions. Together, we set clear, meaningful goals and regularly check on your progress. Many clients notice greater confidence, communication skills, improved relationships, and a better ability to manage life’s ups and downs. I celebrate every step forward—big or small—and am always transparent about the process. Therapy is most helpful when you feel comfortable with your therapist. My approach may be a good fit if you value open communication, want to actively participate in your growth, and appreciate gentle honesty. If you’re mainly seeking advice without self-reflection, or if you prefer a very structured or directive style, I may not be the best match. I’m happy to talk more about this to help you find the right support for your needs.
I work best with adults, ages 18 and older, both men and women, who are navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, and/or addictions. My ideal clients are seeking to improve their coping, communication, and problem-solving skills, and are self-motivated to create more balance in their lives. They are open to trying new approaches and utilizing resources outside of therapy sessions to support their personal growth.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT in therapy sessions to help you identify and change your negative thought patterns and behaviors. During sessions I will work with you to challenge unhelpful beliefs, develop healthier coping strategies, and practice new skills to help manage your stress and emotions so they do not control you. My approach is collaborative and focuses on practical solutions to improve your mental well-being.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use Acceptance and commitment therapy in our therapy sessions to help you build psychological flexibility, encouraging you to accept difficult emotions and thoughts while committing to actions that align with your values. This approach supports your mental health by fostering resilience and promoting meaningful change in your everyday life.
Strength-Based
I use strength-based treatment in our sessions to empower you by focusing on your existing abilities, resources, and positive attributes. By identifying and highlighting your strengths, I encourage you to recognize your own resilience and potential for growth. This allows you to build confidence and motivation, enabling you to overcome challenges and set meaningful goals for your recovery. I will ask you to share moments when you felt proud and accomplished and we will explore how those strengths can be applied to your current difficulties. I also integrate collaborative goal setting, to ensure you are an active participant in your treatment plan. This helps you have a sense of ownership and helps you develop practical strategies for coping and thriving in your everyday life.
Motivational Interviewing
I use motivational interviewing to help you explore and resolve ambivalence, empowering you to make positive changes. This approach helps foster a collaborative environment where you feel heard and supported in your journey toward improved mental health and well-being.
Psychoeducation
I regularly incorporate psychoeducation into my mental health therapy sessions to empower you with knowledge about your conditions and treatment options. This approach helps you better understand your experiences, reduces stigma, and supports you in making informed decisions about your mental health.
