Hi, My name is Sherra Foster, a licensed therapist with a focus on helping people navigate anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I use a compassionate, client-centered approach, drawing from evidence-based techniques to support each person’s unique needs. I believe therapy should feel like a safe partnership where you can explore, grow, and build the tools you need for lasting change.”

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session with me will be focused on what brought you into to therapy. You’ll spend time getting a sense of your presenting problem and what you hope to change. That often includes discussing current challenges, relevant history, and any goals you already have in mind. We will build rapport with each other and structure sessions in a way that will be most beneficial.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths are creating a space where my clients can be honest without worrying about being judged or dismissed. My clients don’t have to filter themselves too much, and even difficult or messy thoughts are met with curiosity rather than criticism. That sense of psychological safety is the foundation everything else sits and that is biggest therapeutic approach.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients to serve would be individuals who are prepared to make change. I like to work with clients who have awareness and are open to try various techniques/interventions that would target presenting problem. I would also like to work with young professionals navigating career, life, and anxiety. I would also like to work with couples who may have hit a hard spot in their relationship.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT allows me as a Clinician to track and measure progress. Clients can reframe negative thoughts and feelings through this intervention. CBT also focuses on helping clients understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, behaviors.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

As a Clinician, I have used DBT a good number of times with clients. I use DBT in practice as a structured, skills‑based treatment, most often for people who experience intense emotions, impulsive behaviors, chronic suicidality or self‑harm, and significant interpersonal difficulties.

Family Therapy

I have used Family Therapy for treatment for a couple years now. I implement this in practice when boundaries or authority is unclear. I couch, set boundaries and interrupt problem cycles.

Grief Therapy

I have worked with many individuals who have experienced grief and loss. Grief can look different for everyone, and I create an environment for my clients to express themselves how they see fit. The way I use this treatment in my practice is through assessments and emotional processing.
