What's unique about my approach is my ability to be empathetic in an attempt to genuinely understand my client's perspective to the best of my ability, as well as my transparency in admitting when I do not understand and being open to further discussion.
My ideal clients would typically be seeking short-term therapy and open to a variety of solutions. I believe that the effectiveness of therapy improves the more that an individual is open to being challenged.
Interpersonal Process Theory is a foundation of my approach, as many root issues can be deciphered and identified in the process dimension.
Following the identification of root issues through interpersonal process, DBT skills can be learned and utilized to implement healthy and sustained growth.
