New to Grow
Hey there, I’m Kannon! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who takes a collaborative, down-to-earth approach to therapy. I work with people navigating anxiety, depression, relationships, identity, and life transitions, and I tend to follow what’s most present rather than forcing a rigid structure. My approach is trauma-informed and integrative, often incorporating somatic awareness and parts work to help you better understand your patterns, feel more grounded, and reconnect with yourself in a meaningful way.
The first session is about creating a space where you can feel comfortable and understood. We’ll explore what’s bringing you in, what you’ve been navigating, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. We’ll move at your pace, and I’ll also share how I work so we can begin building a sense of safety, clarity, and direction together.
What stands out about my approach is that I don’t follow a rigid structure—I follow you. I integrate somatic work, parts work (IFS), and relational insight to track what’s happening in real time. I pay attention to both what’s said and what’s felt, helping you understand patterns, build awareness, and create meaningful, lasting change.
I especially enjoy working with individuals within queer and BIPOC communities who are navigating identity, relationships, and life transitions. My work is rooted in a non-hierarchical, anti-oppressive approach that honors and centers your lived experience. Many of my clients come in feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand. Together, we create space to explore those experiences, build clarity, and support you in developing a more grounded and authentic relationship with yourself.

EMDR
I am trained in basic EMDR and have been using it in my practice since 2023. I use EMDR to help clients reprocess and desensitize trauma that may not be fully accessible through talk therapy alone, or in combination with other approaches.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I have been incorporating IFS and parts work training over the past year. I use this approach to help clients understand and work with different parts of themselves, creating more internal harmony and insight into patterns shaped by trauma and life experiences.
Trauma Informed Care
My work is grounded in trauma-informed care, recognizing the impact of trauma and prioritizing safety, pacing, and empowerment. I support clients in moving at their own speed while building skills for grounding, regulation, and containment.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I integrate mindfulness to help clients build awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and body sensations. This supports regulation, grounding, and the ability to respond to experiences with more intention rather than reactivity.
Psychodynamic
I use a psychodynamic lens to explore how past experiences, relationships, and unconscious patterns influence present thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This helps clients develop deeper insight and create meaningful, lasting change.
