About me

Hi, I'm Daniel. I’m a licensed mental health therapist with over 10 years of experience. In the past I've worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, community case management, and outpatient clinics. I have worked in and around Boston and Philadelphia, and work virtually with clients in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Delaware. I work exclusively with adults for individual psychotherapy.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session we will talk about what brings you to therapy and what you're looking for. This conversation will generally include basic background information including: mental health history, medical history, family history, employment/education/housing, etc., and set some preliminary goals for our work together. Therapy is about looking at problems and finding new ways to handle them. This can mean learning how to manage difficult moments, gaining self-knowledge, searching for meaning, healing from old wounds, or moving towards a version of yourself that feels more authentic.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

At its core, the purpose of therapy is to talk, listen, and notice what happens. My main approach is psychodynamic, meaning I'll be interested in the past, the present, and the "here and now" of the counseling session. We'll listen for patterns across these areas and find new ways to manage hardship. I am also influenced by existentialism, family systems, and will use techniques from other modalities like CBT and DBT when appropriate. Furthermore, I offer Safety and Attachment-Focused (SAFE) EMDR, a therapy that helps people heal from traumatic or distressing memories.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am patient, curious, non-judgmental, and relaxed. I will tailor my approach to suit your needs.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I currently work with adults who experience problems in living. These might be described as anxiety, depression, anger, grief, life transitions, self-doubt, relationship issues, meaninglessness, or the residual impacts of past traumas. I recognize these problems do not exist in isolation but are bound to childhood, relationships, families, history, culture, and oppression. I am committed to providing care that embraces the fundamental humanity of everyone I work with.
