About me

Hello, my name is Matt Marder. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and how I might support you on your personal journey. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I offer behavioral therapy to improve and maintain your emotional well-being. I focus on building a trusting relationship with my clients, allowing you to be heard and understood. Initially, we begin where you are and build a treatment plan specifically to meet your needs. My approaches allow you to recognize yourself, think about others, and identify strategies for navigating the daily roller-coaster of life. You may have gone through a loss or be experiencing trouble managing whatever life has thrown your way. I am available to listen and help you succeed in improving yourself, your relationships, or your family life. No matter who you are, or what circumstances you’ve endured, your emotional health and well-being are most important. Feel free to reach out to me for assistance.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I believe that the best therapy work is accomplished within a trusting therapeutic relationship. During our first session, you will not only share your story, but you will learn a little bit about me as well. We will address areas where you struggle and achieve, followed by an initial formation of a treatment plan to fits your wishes and needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I specialize in providing behavioral therapy for anyone in need of emotional support as well as working with individuals and/or families experiencing ADHD, chronic illness, large life transitions, and/or traumatic events. I pride myself on being collaborative, open, honest, and nonjudgmental with everyone. My ability to connect with anyone on a human level in a positive and effective manner is my “superpower.” My main goal is to facilitate positive change in a way that works uniquely for each client.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I focus on individuals experiencing difficulty related to ADHD, chronic illness, and large life transitions/traumatic events.

My treatment methods

Narrative

I use narrative therapy as the foundation of treatment. You are the expert and I provide a safe space for you to tell your story. My goal is to ask questions and allow you the opportunity to improve yourself through reflection and therapist observations.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) aims to identify the way you view yourself, others, and lived experiences. This is followed by discovering opportunities to see your lived experience through a new lens. Within each session, we will look at appropriate exercises to facilitate positive emotional, cognitive, and behavioral change.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused Therapy focuses on identifying ways to move forward without concentrating on prior problems or negative experiences. During each session, we will address your strengths and determine ways to use these strengths as a catalyst for positive change.
