About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I obtained my Master’s of Science Degree in Counseling from The University of Houston, Clear Lake in 2005 and have been professionally licensed for 7 years. I am also a proud, female, United States Military Veteran. I have experience working with individuals, couples, families, and young adults struggling with a multitude of issues to include depression, anxiety, parenting skills, infidelity, sex addiction, intimacy concerns, suicidal ideation, self harm, grief, PTSD, addiction, abuse, trauma, and ADHD. I have also worked with individuals who are experiencing career challenges or transitions and have a vast amount of knowledge to help individuals prepare for a successful Post Secondary Educational experience. I have personally faced a number of struggles throughout my life which I successfully overcame and find much joy in teaching skills to help others overcome obstacles. We all need each other to get through life. I would love to work with you to help you resolve whatever problems you are facing and to help you find happiness, peace, and strength.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

People tend to be very comfortable around me and find it is easy to share their life problems. I am a very caring, compassionate counselor and love working with people in an effort to help them create their best lives. I encourage my clients to actively participate in their treatment plans by involving them in setting goals. I also encourage my clients to do worksheets or exercises to increase their knowledge in an area and/or become familiar with new skills that will help them to better navigate their lives.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My strength is working with teenagers. I have 17 years experience working with teenagers and parents struggling with a myriad of issues. I have also worked with individuals and couples.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use this method with practically all my clients, many times along with other methods, while trying to shift the way the client views a situation. If we can shift the way we think about situations and experiences, we can change the way we feel and respond to situations and experiences.

Couples Counseling

I work with many couples teaching them skills to better relate as a team. One of the biggest skills I have found to be affective with couples is learning to better communicate. I have also found that couples tend to lose sight of each other over time so we work on ways to prioritize time spent together and recognizing the needs of our partners.
