About me

I am a skilled and empathetic with over 18 years of experience. I work with a wide variety of clients from the very young to the very experienced. My clients are people who have been struggling, often through many failed attempts, to get their life back on the path they want. I help my clients find their own, unique way to overcome the challenges they are facing be it depression, anxiety, relationship issues, or unexpected changes in life circumstances. I help my clients find their footing and forge their own path towards the future they choose.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Beginning counseling can be an intimidating process. I strive to make my clients feel at ease and comfortable as we get to know each other. I approach the session in a conversational manner and to better understand what brought my clients to counseling. I allow my clients to tell their story in their terms and only as far as they are ready. I also spend time with each client exploring what they want to achieve through counseling and get a solid plan laid out to get the most out of the experience.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I approach counseling from an eclectic perspective. This allows me to tailor treatment to my clients specific needs in a more targeted manner. My base approach to counseling is a mix of cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused brief therapy. My goal is to provide the most effective counseling in a way that is targeted to alleviate distress as quickly as possible.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I specialize in treating depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, substance abuse issues, life transitions, and relationship/marriage issues. I also treat additional childhood specific disorders that result in disturbances at school and home, such as oppositional defiant disorder (ODD).

Faith based therapy

A person's faith is central to how each of us sees the world. I have been trained to work within a person's faith to help them overcome various life challenges.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing techniques are woven through all of the interventions. It is a highly effective method in increasing participation in the counseling process.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)

I have begun working with CBT-I in the last few years. I have used it successfully with a number of clients suffering from varying degrees of insomnia.
