About me

Holistic-Mindfulness Supporting Your Therapeutic Journey Brain-Based & Embodied Reprocessing Trauma-Wound-Growth Hello and a warm welcome to you, I'm Karre, she/her. Over 20 years ago, through my massage therapy practice, I discovered the healing that is possible for both myself and my clients. Inspired by the many years of personal narratives, shared with me during bodywork sessions, I continued my journey into mental health. Healing of the whole person and overall well-being is central to my clinical practice. I love my work, helping you to discover, recover, and embrace your inner strengths, moving towards fulfillment and joy is a privilege. I invest daily in my skill set and bring into my work an incredibly strong desire to provide the best possible approaches. Those closest to me know me as an ardent mom, wife, and nana, a traveler, and an arts-inspired social equality-loving creator.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, you can expect a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you feel heard and understood. We talk about what inspired you to reach out, and we also go gently into an overview of how you have been moving around in the world. This helps me work with you collaboratively to create a plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I'm passionate about being a helper in the healing world. Through my varied life and work experiences, and travels in diverse communities around the world, I have developed a creative, industrious, and culturally sensitive approach to my practice. I also have lived experience with many of the areas I focus on in my practice and therefore have a deeply felt understanding of how difficult they can be.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Clients that tend to work with me have a desire to stop feeling so stuck and bogged down by personal experiences including trauma. We build resources to support you during and in between sessions. We move at a pace that feels comfortable for you and we work together, modifying as needed along the way.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps us accept negative thoughts, feelings, and circumstances. It's a different way of looking at whats going on within and around us. It encourages us to commit to a pro-positive lifestyle that is tied to what it is that we truly value.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) can help you to change unhelpful or unhealthy ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving. CBT uses practical self-help strategies that are designed to immediately improve your quality of life.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) is a short-term, collaborative approach to psychotherapy that focuses on setting goals and finding solutions. It's based on solution-building rather than problem-solving.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) can help you process through traumatic and/or disturbing memories, feelings, body sensations, and thoughts with very little or no description of the event while utilizing bi-lateral stimulation (tapping, sound, eye movements). When we are able to process through them, we can be less attached to the experience. In a sense we are released from the attachment.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-Based Therapy (MBCBT, MBCT) can help us to be aware of internal thoughts, feelings, and emotions, as well as external surroundings and situations, without automatic responses such as judgment, criticism, and stress.
