About me

Welcome! I'm a licensed clinical professional counselor in Maryland. I received my master's degree in forensic psychology and I also have a master's certificate in counseling. I have over 20 years experience working with adults struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and substance use. I have an interest in working with first responders, correctional staff, and their families. Part of my career has been working in a correctional setting, assisting in crisis management, de-escalation, and responding after critical incidents.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first meeting, I will gather some background information, so I can get to know you. Then we can dive in to the reason you sought therapy and discuss some areas you may want to focus on in therapy. This information will help us tailor a treatment plan specific to your needs and guide the direction of therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a therapist, I take my time to really understand my clients needs. I try to provide an open, nonjudgmental, and compassionate environment to allow a space where my clients can be open and honest even with things that can feel embarrassing, shameful, or unmanageable.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with adults who are interested in making changes in their lives and are open to trying something different.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is based in the idea that our thoughts and feelings are connected and at times these thought patterns lead to changes in our mood and can create anxiety and depression. Once these negative thought patterns have been identified, skills learned in CBT can help shift your mindset, which can positively impact how you feel. Resulting in a more balanced and fulfilling life.
