About me

As a psychotherapist, I emphasize the mutual development of goals for therapy and prefers a holistic, strength based, person-centered approach. I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I have worked with children and adults, including the elderly, and have spent over 10 years volunteering for youth groups throughout the Las Vegas area. A lover of nature and the outdoors, I also enjoy concerts and playing with my two beloved dogs.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the first therapy session with me, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and non-judgmental environment. This initial session is often about establishing a connection, understanding the client's needs and goals, and laying the foundation for future work. Here’s a general outline of what clients can expect: Introduction and Building Rapport: The session will start with introductions and an effort to build rapport. It's important for clients to feel comfortable and safe, and establishing a warm, empathetic relationship is the first step. Discussing Confidentiality: I will explain the confidentiality aspect of therapy, ensuring clients understand that what they share in the session is private, with certain legal and ethical exceptions. Gathering Background Information: I will ask about the client’s background, including personal history, current circumstances, and any relevant medical or psychological history. This information helps in understanding the client's context and individual needs. Identifying Presenting Issues: Clients will have the opportunity to discuss what brought them to therapy. This might include specific problems, life events, emotional challenges, or general feelings of dissatisfaction or distress. Setting Goals: We will discuss what the client hopes to achieve through therapy. These goals will guide the direction of future sessions and can be adjusted over time. Therapeutic Process Overview: I will provide an overview of how therapy works, including the frequency of sessions, duration, and what clients can expect in terms of the therapeutic process. Initial Assessment: The first session is also an initial assessment where I begin to understand the client's issues and how best to address them. It's a time to start building the therapeutic framework. Questions and Concerns: Clients will have the opportunity to ask any questions they have about therapy, my approach, or any other concerns they might have. Developing Comfort and Trust: The first session is as much about the client assessing their comfort with me as a therapist as it is about me assessing their needs. It's important that clients feel a sense of trust and compatibility. Next Steps: At the end of the session, we will discuss the next steps, which may include scheduling the next appointment and discussing any initial thoughts on the therapeutic approach.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I offer a grounded, compassionate, and client-centered approach to therapy. With experience working in mental health since 2019, I’ve supported adults navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, addiction, and high stress. I understand the complexities of identity, and I strive to create a safe, affirming space for LGBTQ+ clients. My strengths lie in building genuine therapeutic relationships, helping clients feel seen, and guiding them through meaningful change with empathy and practical tools.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are adults who are ready and willing to engage in the therapeutic process, open to learning about themselves, and motivated to make positive changes in their lives. My role is to facilitate their journey towards greater self-awareness, empowerment, and overall well-being.
