About me

Hello, thank you for considering me to help you on your healing journey. I am an LCSW and I have been a mental health professional for the past 15 years. My style is eclectic and I incorporate relevant techniques from evidenced based practices, based on the individual needs of my clients. I am a holistic practitioner and focus on mind, body, and spiritual wellness. I provide transformational psychotherapy through my virtual office. I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Based Therapies, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy are my main evidenced based tools.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session, I will be collecting Information about you and getting to know you on a personal level. We will come up with a treatment plan based on individual goals and needs. We will discuss personal history, family issues, biological, medical, trauma, addictions, and other relevant information needed to best serve you as an individual. I am also available to answer any of your questions once the intake is completed. We will come up with a list of measurable goals during the treatment process.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am compassionate, empathetic, and non judgmental. Some of my clients come to me because I am open minded, liberal, spiritual, and up front. People like that I can be direct and speak the truth plainly. I am serious as a therapist but also enjoy being light hearted at times in sessions. I like to teach specific skills and make sure that my clients are learning what they need to and not just wasting time in treatment. I incorporate mind and body wellness and have an holistic approach that is unique to traditional therapy. I LOVE animals and one of the best things about virtual sessions is getting to see all the animal companions at home. I have been through a lot in my own life and a lot of my strengths are drawn from my own experiences as well as education as a mental health professional.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work well with individuals that have a willingness to learn new things and explore themselves in all aspects of mental health. I serve motivated individuals of all walks of life that are wanting to live more fulfilling lives. Depression can cause a lack of motivation and desire to do normal things. If you want to feel more motivated and take back your life, we will be a good fit. I teach others how to find their own happiness and help guide towards mental wellbeing. I am a trauma therapist and work well with anyone that has experienced adverse experiences such as, sexual, physical, verbal, emotional, and religious abuse. I am very passionate about working with LGBTQIA. A large percentage of my client base is LGBTQIA as this is an area of specialization.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I utilize DBT skills in an outpatient setting teaching Mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and the "middle path". DBT is effective for treating depression, anxiety, bi polar disorder, personality disorders, and stress management.

EMDR

I am trained and certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and I am able to provide this service virtually on Telehealth. EMDR is utilized to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is the basic foundation of what I teach as a therapist and it will be intertwined with other treatment modalities I use in therapy sessions. CBT teaches us how to gain control over our thought processes and mental state.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness based therapies are highly encouraged for all of my clients to try. Mindfulness is very effective for treating anxiety and depression. It teaches up to be present and how not focus on all the things that can go wrong.

Mind-body approach

I consider myself an holistic therapist and I incorporate coaching on mind and body wellness.
