About me

Manifesting hope & living life with meaningfulness doesn't have to be journeyed alone! I have over 16 years of experience in individual and family therapy. I have experience with clients from diverse cultures, faith, life transition phases, and career backgrounds. I recognize the importance of meeting clients where they are and have seen success in ensuring that my treatment approach incorporates humility and being inquisitive about set-backs and progress. I incorporate humor when appropriate and may sometimes ask hard-questions when patterns of difficulty arise.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the first session I will complete the intake assessment to understand what is brining you to therapy. I will provide explanations of what to expect in the treatment process to include recommended length of treatment, frequency of sessions and a formal diagnosis which is required for insurance billing. I will engage my client about their goals for treatment and discuss a collaborative approach on how to meet those goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths are listening, reframing of what has been said from clients from a place of compassion and also helping clients to build on their unknown strengths.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is one who feels fully comfortable in communicating what they need from me as a therapist, what they need help in understanding and/or what some of their difficulties have been in the past with therapy experiences, both good and bad.

My treatment methods

Schema Therapy

Schema Therapy allows for the exploration of central core beliefs that may be creating challenges in the lives of clients. I have seen success with clients via this treatment method where they are then able to understand how core beliefs have been carried with them from attachment traumas and begin creating healthy beliefs about themselves and others.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is important in providing education to clients about their experiences and most importantly in providing education about their diagnosis and how diagnosis shapes behaviors and interactions with others.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I provide trauma-focused CBT with clients who have history of trauma and need support in understanding how to re-learn safety and trust in themselves and with others.

Jungian

Often times dreams provide explanation to repressed and/or suppressed memories, but they can also be helpful in understand some things to come. I provide dream interpretations for clients who report reoccurring dreams and also apply a psychoanalytic approach in the interpretation as there may be context from early childhood experiences.
