I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology/Counseling from California Southern University, and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who resides and practices in Missouri. I believe therapy should be useful in your everyday life, not just something we talk about in session, so I focus on helping you understand what’s going on and how to apply it in a real, practical way. I work with men from all backgrounds, including first responders, around topics like stress, emotional expression, substance use, and behaviors that can be difficult to talk about. I understand that there’s often pressure to keep things to yourself.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

My approach to therapy is relaxed, supportive, and nonjudgmental. I want you to feel comfortable being yourself and talking openly about what’s going on in your life—without pressure or fear of being judged. Choosing to be here is already a sign of strength and insight. It means you’re willing to look at things honestly and take steps toward change. If you’ve been trying to handle things alone, it’s okay to take a step toward support—you don’t have to figure it out by yourself.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths is creating a space where men feel comfortable being real without fear of judgment, stigma, or embarrassment. I understand that many men have been taught to hide emotions, carry stress alone, or see asking for help as weakness, which can make reaching out incredibly difficult. My approach is direct, supportive, and practical, helping men talk openly while also learning tools they can use in everyday life. I am passionate about helping men work through anxiety, depression, anger, relationship stress, and emotional disconnection in a way that feels respectful and relatable. I focus on reducing shame, building confidence, and helping clients see that emotional awareness is a strength, not a flaw. My goal is to help men feel understood, empowered, and capable of meaningful change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work especially well with men who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected and want practical support to create meaningful change. Many of the clients I serve struggle with anxiety, depression, anger, stress, relationship conflict, emotional suppression, or difficulty expressing what they feel. I am particularly well-positioned to help men who have spent years carrying pressure alone, avoiding vulnerability, or believing they must “figure it out” by themselves. I also work well with men navigating life transitions, identity concerns, family conflict, substance use, or the impact of stigma around seeking help. My approach is a good fit for men who want a nonjudgmental space, honest conversations, and tools they can apply in everyday life. The goal is to help clients build emotional strength, healthier relationships, and a clearer sense of direction.

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing as a collaborative and respectful approach to help clients, particularly men navigating men’s issues, explore ambivalence and strengthen motivation for change. It is especially effective for concerns such as emotional suppression, relationship stress, anger, identity struggles, stigma, and difficulty asking for support. Rather than telling clients what to do, I help them identify their own reasons for growth and build confidence in their ability to change. Through reflective listening and strategic questions, I help men recognize how current patterns may be helping or hurting them while reconnecting with values such as being a stronger partner, father, or leader. The goal is lasting change that feels practical, meaningful, and self-directed.

Integrative

I use an integrative approach by drawing from multiple evidence-based therapies to meet the unique needs of each client rather than relying on one single method. In my work with men’s issues, this is especially helpful because concerns such as emotional suppression, anxiety, anger, relationship stress, trauma, identity struggles, and substance use often require different tools at different times. I may combine elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, attachment-focused work, and skills-based interventions depending on the client’s goals and readiness for change. This allows therapy to be flexible, practical, and personalized while helping men build insight, emotional awareness, healthier coping strategies, and stronger relationships. My goal is to provide treatment that fits the person, not force the person to fit the treatment model.
