LCSW, 5 years of experience
I use humor to help individuals find empowerment and overcome self-limiting beliefs, depression, relationship issues, stress, and anxiety with a warm and relatable approach tailored to your specific therapy goals. Hello, my name is "Marty" Ferraioli, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Virginia. If you're feeling "stuck," misunderstood, feeling unfulfilled, struggling with relationship conflicts, work-related stressors, symptoms of ADHD, Trauma, Anxiety/Depression, reach out to see how we can partner together toward your wellness goals. My clients frequently rebook sessions and report that they experience a significant decrease in symptoms within a few sessions. I believe in providing my clients with a compassionate and safe environment that fosters progress toward reducing symptoms, forming a more positive view of Self, and moving toward optimal wellness goals.
During our first session we will gather background information, review treatment goals and expectations for therapy as well as, dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
The feedback I receive from my clients is that they enjoy the fact that I am proactive and care about their well-being, I am actively engaged in sessions, and I provide direction in the therapy assignments. I use humor and relatability. My clients report feeling supported and more positive after the initial session.
The clients who are overwhelmed and may have tried therapy in the past find that I am proactive in their treatment and offer a non-judgmental, supportive, and affirming environment, where clients can freely express themselves and begin their journey of self-healing.
I use a creative approach to the evidence-based practices, engaging my clients in understanding the CBT relationship between thoughts, emotions and behaviors to initiate positive change to thwart the unhelpful thinking traps which keep client's stuck in a loop of behaviors that hold them back from achieving goals, moving forward and feeling more positive about themselves.
I engage clients in self awareness of feelings and thoughts to move through emotional situations and engage in more positive interactions with others, including setting healthy emotional boundaries for more balanced and positive relationships with themselves and with others.
I use psychoanalytic therapy with a trauma-informed lens to help my clients explore and understand how their past experiences influence their current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I aid my clients in moving through their past experiences, crafting a new narrative and repairing their unhealed, fractured selves.
