Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma can mean very different things to different people. It could be a sexual trauma, domestic violence, rough childhood, traumatic grief, Car accident or something like a childhood bully, a divorce, Dealing with the new job becoming a parent Living with a disability some type of life transition it’s a Trauma can be very difficult for many and I use CBT in combination with many other therapies to help a person heal and take back control of their life.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Meditation is the great way to calm the mind. It’s not about having no thoughts in your head, but rather acknowledging those thoughts and feelings, but not getting stuck in them.

Grief Therapy

Losing someone can be hard whether it’s a person or the loved pet I have worked with many clients who struggle with reconnecting with their loved one who is past and help them to be able to corporate their memory into their life so that connection is never completely lost. It just takes a different form.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I am very fond of this method because it uses a lot of different skills, meditation communication skills dealing with distressing situations. I have used it a lot with couples, struggling with communications to strength in the relationship or people Who struggle with managing strong emotions. I found that is also effective for people with trauma, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD and ADHD

Gender-affirming therapy

Transitioning for for people who are transgender can be a very difficult and frustrating Process I am here every step of the way from coming out to family and friends dealing with the world prejudices all the way to figuring out what this process means for you.
