I am here to offer support and guidance while you work through your thoughts, feelings and emotions as you move towards becoming your best self. I have 20 years of experience working with adolescents and adults who are experiencing things such as emotional distress, substance use, or issues that may call for a safe space to discuss and work through.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will be getting to know one another. We will focus on your reason for seeking therapy, as well as gather information about various aspects of your life that make you who you are today. We will work together to identify short and long term goals that you have for yourself. At the end of the session, we will determine if we are a good fit for one another and if so, schedule our first therapy appointment.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach consists of meeting you where you are at while using a combination of skills based in DBT, CBT, Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I believe that everyone has the ability, desire and right to feel whole and sometimes we just need a little help getting there.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use a DBT skill set in an effort to assist clients with emotional dysregulation and/or self-harm. I have primarily used it with clients experiencing co-occurring SUD/MH symptoms

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I like to focus on solutions to problems and SFBT is a perfect treatment model for this. Since it is designed to be a brief treatment, it allows us to focus on solutions to the presenting problem; I.e. relationship issues, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and then dive deeper into the root cause.

Motivational Interviewing

A person can understand the need for change but at time is not motivated to make that change. MI allows for a collaborative process that will help to strengthen the motivation for positive change. This treatment method can be used in a myriad of situations and I have seen much success when working with individuals with co-occurring SUD and MH.
