I started my clinical journey in family therapy, working with children and adolescents and their caregivers. Individual outpatient therapy, where the client has space to explore themselves with compassionate support, drew my interest and since 2017 I have focused on providing individual therapy to adults. The perspective of a social worker continues to inform my work as I consider at the bigger picture of society, community and family and how it affects individual mental health. This becomes especially important when factors like trauma, chronic illness, or financial stress impact wellbeing.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Through conversation, I will start to understand your background and personality. We will discuss what you would like to work on in therapy. Towards the end we will discuss scheduling, confidentiality, etc.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a therapist, my first duty is to help you feel less alone. My professional demeanor is safe and well boundaried, but also refreshingly down to earth and relatable. My therapy modalities include: Trauma informed therapy (having the awareness to avoid being triggering to folks with overworked nervous systems), narrative therapy (identifying the story you use to make sense of yourself and/or the problem, and helping you adjust it if needed), and psychoeducation (providing information on common patterns for people with similar problems) are some of the modalities I use with clients.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

People who are in transitional moments in life, or are trying to define themselves. People who are down on themselves, feel like black sheep, or have difficult family dynamics. Those who are dealing with loss that simply doesn't have a solution, such as grief or disability. Folks who are exploring spirituality, healing from religious trauma, or navigating interfaith or cross-cultural dynamics.
