LCMHC, 10 years of experience
New to Grow
The population I serve includes adults, adolescents, and families. I provide counseling in both individual and group settings. My theoretical orientation is an eclectic approach that has its main theoretical framework from cognitive behavioral Therapy and combines skills and techniques from reality therapy such as choice theory, WDEP (wants, doing and direction, evaluation, and planning) and solution focused therapy such as miracle question and scaling. Overall I work with the client to improve their thinking pattern in order to improve or change their behaviors, coping with challenges effectively, and create meaning in their lives that honor who they are in the here and now.
First session will be both of use getting to know each other. The client will be asked "what do you want to talk about?". Let the client have the opportunity to lead. If the client doesn't know where to begin, I will make suggestions.
Open Mind, Understanding, Teach, listen, love helping others, love to see the change in the person, ect
A client who is wanting to learn and better way to live life. Willing to understand what they know is wrong and right = )
I use several of the modalities in my therapy. We will go though past issues and how they relate to the present and possible future. I will teach ways to cope with life and find a better way to live.
