New to Grow
Yes, life can be difficult, and you're here looking for help. For 35 years I've helped people like you look at their lives. I've helped them find ways to directly address the pain, fear, anger, shame, depression, and other struggles that feel overwhelming. More importantly, I've helped people move beyond today's focus on pain and struggle to discover new ways to manage their lives, to feel more space, trust, and aliveness. Contact me if you think I can help you, too.
a first session is orientation, evaluation, and the beginning stages of therapy. We'll start by understanding your current "situation" and what brings you to therapy. I'll begin to learn who you are, establish how we create a safe space to look at your life, and begin to address your concerns. Before the end of our first session I would want to have at least a beginning understanding of what your goals for therapy are, and have taken first steps to move towards some relief and healing.
We all want to find the root of our suffering, and discover the path to a better life. The internet is full of people offering quick fixes and telling you what you need to be happy. But the answers aren't something outside of you. While I have years of experience to share, I know that the real answers lie inside you. Our explorations together, building on your awareness and expert knowledge of your own life, is what will lead us to your own individual version of a better life.

Humanistic
The ground of my work is training in client centered, talk-based therapy. By exploring your life now, we can discover and build upon your inner strengths, helping you overcome current problems and grow as a person.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
By learning to pay close attention to thoughts, feelings, sensations, and experience in general we can learn to change painful, habitual patterns and shift emotional reactivity. This can help us feel more in control of our lives, mind, and body.
Somatic
I am trained in Somatic Experiencing, and believe that it is important to work with our body awareness to improve self regulation, find relief from trauma symptoms, and feel more safe and present.
Eclectic
I believe in finding what works with each individual client, utilizing cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness based, psychodynamic, humanistic, or mindfulness techniques as they fit and help us move towards therapy goals.
