About me

Through connection, empathy and a non-judgmental approach, I offer ways to help you discover what may be blocking you from finding your true path in life. By not seeing an individual for what symptoms they have or what is affecting them, I am more interested in helping you find what is the cause of symptoms and how to process them. I work with adults, adolescents and couples from all backgrounds. I am also open to any culture, belief, identification or orientation. All are welcome. I base all individual therapy on a client-focused approach and adapt sessions to the needs of each person.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I begin all sessions by reviewing informed consent, practice policy and privacy practices. Next, I let clients ask any questions they have of me (who I am, how I work, etc.), since I'm not sure who actually reads my bio. Lastly, I provide the choice of letting clients talk about reasons for coming to therapy or I can ask questions to get things started.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

I describe myself as a "Swiss Army Knife" in my approach to sessions. I don't have one specialized modality that I try to fit people into. All sessions start with Client-Centered Therapy to build trust and allow the therapeutic relationship to build. From there, we follow the direction that feels right to the client after using tools from different modalities (CBT, DBT, ACT, Mindfulness, IFS, EFT).

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Everyone has their own individual path in life and no two people are exactly the same. My career path as a therapist had several stops along the way, including college athletics and non-profit food banks. I would be honored to have the opportunity to not only learn your story but join with you in moving towards your goals and path in life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am interested in working with those who are going through important life changes/stages and need help processing, unpacking or getting organized to take the next step in life. I am also adept at helping those who are dealing with OCD/OCPD/Imposter Syndrome anxieties.

I have tried different therapists and modalities through the years with some success. Working with Josh is the first time everything is finally coming together. I am able to live more authentically and with a peace I did not know was possible.

No pressure therapy, Josh realizes all the decisions have to come within myself. I've never had a moment where you have to do this or have to do that or else. I don't want to sound like an ad but him and I know that there's going to be life after Josh and ultimately I'm the one who has to make life choice decisions which has made me a better patient, student.
