Are you a teen, college student, or young adult who feels stuck, overwhelmed, or just not like yourself lately? Or, are you a parent searching for compassionate and effective support for your child? I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Connecticut, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in New Hampshire, and a Ph.D.-level psychologist. I earned my doctorate degree in psychology from the University of Connecticut and specialize in helping people manage anxiety, stress, and life transitions with clarity and confidence. In our work together, you will find a warm and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported. My approach is collaborative and practical. We will build skills and strategies that match your unique needs so you can feel more grounded, capable, and in control. I am passionate about helping clients discover their inner strengths, learn coping skills, and create meaningful and lasting changes. If you are ready to take the next steps toward a calmer and more fulfilling life for yourself or your child, I am here to help. I invite you to explore my professional pages to learn more about me: Instagram: @hellodrnilani Linktree: https://linktr.ee/drnilani **Note: I adhere to the Grow Therapy policy of a fee for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice and no show appointments.
In our first session, we will focus on getting to know you and understanding what led you to seek therapy. We will talk about your current experiences, the challenges you are facing, and what you would like to change or feel differently about. You can share at whatever pace feels comfortable in a calm, nonjudgmental space. Together, we will begin shaping a clear, collaborative plan that supports your goals and helps you feel more confident, empowered, and in control.
One of my greatest strengths is helping clients learn practical tools they can start using right away. My approach is active, collaborative, and tailored so that every strategy fits your unique needs, personality, and daily life. I focus on being an action-oriented therapist. I like to give steps, ideas, and skills that you can practice in between sessions with me.
I work with pre-teens, teens, college students, and young adults on this platform. I support individuals experiencing anxiety, ADHD, OCD, and challenges related to life transitions. I have successfully supported many college-aged students on this platform. This can be a particularly challenging and stressful time in a person's life. Telehealth therapy can be especially effective for college students because they are often on the go and managing very busy schedules. Online therapy sessions are a convenient and accessible option for these individuals. When working with children and pre-teens, I involve parents or guardians in the process, as I find that therapy is most effective for these younger clients when caregivers are actively engaged. **Please note: I do not work with clients who experience self-harm or suicidal ideation on this platform. Your safety and well-being are very important to me. If you are experiencing thoughts of self-harm or suicide, it is really important to seek in-person support where you can get immediate and comprehensive care. I also gently encourage you to connect with local resources. You are not alone, and help is available. I also do not work with clients who are court ordered on this platform.
