New to Grow
Welcome! I am Dr. Deirdre Williams, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 15+ years of direct care work, clinical supervision, and agency leadership growth. In addition to my clinical work, I am a dedicated educator and advocate. My commitment to social justice and equity informs every aspect of my practice, ensuring that each client receives culturally responsive and individualized support. I am deeply committed to creating spaces for building understanding, receiving validation, and increasing curiosity around the narratives and lived truths of others in order to build accountability and address patterns of internal/external all the way to trans-generational discords.
The first session is a review of the intake forms and measures, clarifying questions to understand the holistic view of the work and the presenting problem, and then a discussion about a path forward.
I founded this practice with the intention of creating accessible, inclusive care for individuals from all backgrounds. I believe that mental health services should be a safe enough space for everyone, regardless of their identity, socioeconomic status, or life experiences. This commitment to accessibility drives my work and leads my team to ensure clients feel respected, valued, and supported throughout their journey. People report feeling heard, seen and validated throughout our session at different check points, especially when a pivot in my approach is needed.
Low acuity clients who are ready to start their therapy; which means no recent hospitalizations or have active suicide ideations with a plan and access to a plans/history of gestures with active ideations. I don't like working with higher acuity folks remotely with those thoughts and not have access to speaking with their psychiatrist or PNP. I often see folks who are other mental health providers, folks experiencing difficulty with depression, anxiety, trauma, women's health issues, institutional moral fatigue.
