I attempt to meet my clients where they're at as individuals. I try to remember that everyone's circumstances are unique, and this is something that I feel helps to establish a good base for therapy. I have a background in trauma informed care, and I work hard to continue my education in order to be knowledgable on therapy modalities that are available.

First session

The decision to begin therapy can be a difficult one that carries many emotions. I strive to be an open-minded and active listener for clients who find themselves embarking on this experience. I find that a non-judgmental, conversational style of therapy helps clients to feel more comfortable, while allowing them to address the needs that have brought them to this point. As a therapist my goal is to help clients gain a better understanding of their mental health, while providing them with the tools they need in order to cope with the ups and downs of life in the healthiest way possible. I'd love to hear what is bringing you to therapy and my goal is to walk along with you as you navigate the journey.

Strengths

I tend to treat each client different with the approach I use, recognizing when it might be a good idea to sit back rather than to challenge thoughts or ideas that have come up. It's important to me that my clients feel comfortable being vulnerable in their therapy experience.

Ideal clients

Clients that seem to be a good fit are typically experiencing changes in life, whether it be big life changes or changes in relationship dynamics. Ideally, clients will have an open mind and be ready and willing to embark on the experience that therapy will bring. It can be beneficial to come to the experience with an open mind, but it can also be beneficial to come to the experience with a goal of what you'd like to gain from the experience as well.
