Together we will work together to set your goals, identify barriers toward your goals, and build the skills you will need to have the life you are looking for! As a clinician, I will work diligently to help you uncover what has been holding you back. You need me because we all have blind spots and often when we are confused, it’s those blind spots that are impacting us and making us feel stuck. Once we know, we can move forward with compassion.

I have always felt deeply connected to this work. After two enriching years of undergraduate studies in Israel, I returned to the U.S. to earn my graduate degree at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work in New York City’s Upper West Side. My career has been shaped by a commitment to inclusivity, working with clients from diverse cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. My approach to trauma and addiction is both compassionate and tailored, recognizing the unique needs of every individual.

You want to have a healthy relationship with others, but instead you feel: Overwhelmed and depressed, Negative about your self worth, Afraid of being hurt if you allow yourself to be open, Worried you won’t be able to stay safe, Unable to stop focusing on past trauma and move forward with your life? It doesn’t have to be this way. Hi, I’m Ben and I can help. I provide individual counseling for depression and trauma using research-backed cognitive behavioral therapy. Hi there, my name’s Stacee and I’m a transgender therapist who specializes in work with adult LGBTQ+ clients. There are so many parts to our shared experience: Trauma that’s related to our families-of-origin. For many of us, our families were our first bullies. Grief from our losses of intimate partners, lovers, friends, family, and pets. Anxiety and perfectionism that comes with trying to prove our worth in the world. Spiritual trauma from histories with shame-based religious systems. History with abusive or exploitative relationships, whether bullying bosses, predatory ex-partners or family members. Sometimes, we allowed ourselves to be exploited if it meant we could matter to someone. Weird shaming dynamics that exist within our queer subcultures around body image, shape, and size; our gender behaviors; and even social factors like a decision to live sober. Legitimate fear for our own lives and the safety of our families that’s in response to government actions. Our histories can show up in complicated ways: intrusive thoughts and nightmares, panic and anxiety, compulsive behaviors that once soothed us but now are destructive, cycles of depression. Then we experience guilt and shame that comes with the belief that we should ‘just get over it,’ just as we’ve had to forgive and get over so many things. Yet, there are some things we can't just get over on our own. This is the subject of my self-help book, The Healing Otherness Handbook. I look forward to meeting you and learning how I can help you get your fabulous back, or maybe discover it for the first time.

Warm greetings to the Grow Therapy community! My journey in professional counseling began in 2019, leading me to work with diverse populations facing co-occurring disorders. I hold a Master of Science in Licensed Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing. I specialize in supporting clients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, self-esteem issues, personality disorders, substance use, and eating disorders. I also assist with career challenges, parenting issues, and codependency. My approach is holistic and trauma-informed, drawing on therapies such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. I focus on empowering clients to better understand and regulate their emotions, reframe negative self-narratives, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. I incorporate mindfulness practices to help clients stay present and grounded, while Narrative Therapy encourages them to reshape their life stories, leading to greater self-awareness and healing. In trauma-informed care, I ensure that clients feel safe, supported, and understood throughout their healing process. My goal is to provide tailored, needs-based care to help clients navigate their challenges with clarity and confidence. I aim to offer a compassionate, understanding space where you can feel empowered to achieve the outcomes you’re seeking. In my personal life, I enjoy spending time with family, our pets, and exploring the outdoors. Writing and photography are my creative outlets, allowing me to express myself and stay connected to the world around me. I look forward to connecting with you and supporting your journey toward growth and healing!

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Texas rather than a city like Dallas?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Texas from Houston to Austin! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Texas.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
