I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Pennsylvania. I have 10 years of experience ranging from adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I graduated with an undergrad in Criminal Justice from Neumann University, and a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling from Rosemont College. In my free time I enjoy the outdoors, especially the sunshine! I love spending time with my family and my dog! I also enjoy watching and playing sports.
In our first session together, you can expect a brief introduction from myself followed by an outline of how our first session will go to ensure you, as the client are comfortable with my approach. I typically like to know if this is your first time in therapy and if so what you hope to get out of it. We will discuss what is currently going on in life that brought you to counseling, and then we will work backwards from there.
I believe, as a seasoned clinician I have learned to meet people where they are in their personal journey. I also pride myself on being laid back and making my clients feel comfort to share things that may be difficult to talk about, especially to a stranger. Lastly, while at times I do need to take a few notes, my priority is to be engaged and really listen to my clients. My ultimate goal is for my clients to be the very best version of themselves.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to challenge my clients negative thoughts and feelings. I often teach them to break down the "ABCs" of their behavior and also teach them how to reframe negative cognitions.
I have been working with couples for 3 years and I have found an effective balance to ensure that each person feels heard and validated in our sessions.
I have over 10 years of experience working with child/parent relationships. I have also practiced MST and FFT to work address parenting styles and new interventions to reduce behavioral issues in the home, school, and community.
I have worked for 10 years serving families. I meet families where they are and seek to understand how their family could function in a more effective manner. This method of therapy includes not only the entire family but all aspects of the family unit.
In my years of experience, I have worked with many cultures. This is something I am passionate about because often times I am able to learn so much from my clients to best provide the service they need. I take the time to understand and meet them where they are to ensure the goals set are realistic and attainable.
