I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Columbia University. My concentration was clinical practice in health and mental health settings. For the past 14 years I have been working in a hospital setting. During this time I have worked with individuals and families facing serious illness, life altering diagnosis, grief, substance abuse, homelessness as well as various other life transitions, depression, anxiety and panic attacks.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My therapeutic approach focuses on empowering my clients to utilize personal strengths in order to make positive changes in their lives. I use a variety of approaches including Interpersonal, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care in my work to address client’s unique needs and learning style.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT to help people manage intense emotions, develop coping skills, and build a life they find meaningful. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process where we address personal challenges, review weekly progress and apply skills obtained during sessions to real-life situations.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT approach in my work with clients in order to help them to accept difficult emotions, thoughts and sensations rather than fight against them. Our work together will be focused on increasing psychological flexibility. I will assist my clients to obtain and apply different tools that will help them stay in the present moment while pursuing actions that align with deeply held values.

Grief Therapy

I use grief counseling to help clients cope with loss, typically the death of a loved one but also losses related to relationships, health, or major life transitions. My primary goal is to support clients through their morning process, helping them understand and work through their emotions, find ways to adapt to life without the deceased, and ultimately regain a sense of meaning and hope.
