Hello, I am a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am based in Connecticut. I received my Bachelors and Masters from Vanguard University of Southern California. I am newly licensed but practicing since 2012. I help adults in underserved, marginalized areas who are struggling with addiction, trauma, mental health, and racism. Together, we can turn obstacles into opportunities.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, what has brought to the point of seeking help, what are your expectation, and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have been involved in the field of recovery for 30 years. I have seen teenage experimentation lead to a lifetime of addiction, negative legal involvement, and relationships issues. I believe that my clients are the directors, producers, and casters of the movies of their lives and they can rewrite the script as necessary to create a positive outcome. Our work together is a motivational collaboration to thought and actions that create lasting change by using a collections of coping skills and strategies created over the last three decades.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with adults struggling with a lack of resources to become the best version of themselves. My clients are people of color worried about navigating a system that overlooks their hopes and needs to pursue the American Dream. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed, and anxious about their life choices, relationships, and support networks.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I specialize in the use of Christian counseling as a way to integrate faith, spirituality, trauma, substance use, and mental health support. I believe that what you go through is not who you are and there is a positive way to navigate life's challenges. I am a therapist who understands his cultural, journey, and spiritual background.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a valuable tool for understanding and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors associated with addiction, mental health, relationships, and autonomy. I want to help clients regain control and build a more fulfilling life. I deliver a culturally sensitive approach to CBT, highlighting the need to regain control, change negative thoughts and behaviors, address addiction, while maintaining cultural sensitivity.
