I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) dedicated to supporting you as you navigate life’s changes and challenges. I specialize in helping individuals manage anxiety, OCD, mood disorders, and the lingering effects of trauma, empowering them to build a life of stability, strength, and purpose. With advanced training and a compassionate approach, I’m here to guide you toward healing and resilience.
In our sessions, you’ll find a warm, supportive environment where you feel safe and truly heard. I use a tailored approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Reality Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to meet your specific needs. Together, we’ll explore your thoughts and emotions, uncover strengths, and create actionable steps to help you move toward your goals. Whether it’s your first session or your fiftieth, you’ll leave feeling understood and equipped with tools to navigate life’s challenges.
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to create a space where clients feel valued, validated, and empowered. I bring compassion, curiosity, and practical tools to the table, ensuring that each session is productive and supportive. My experience with trauma recovery and my commitment to a tailored, integrative approach allow me to meet clients where they are and guide them toward meaningful change.
Many of my clients respond very well to CBT. There is a strong link between our inner dialogue, the emotions we feel, and our behavior. I like to explore and address the core beliefs that influence these thoughts, as changing our inner dialogue can be a powerful way to transform how we feel and behave. I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to effectively treat conditions such as generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, low self-esteem, mood disorders, compulsive issues, and anger management adn to tackle the ways in which we sabotage ourselves. By focusing on identifying and reshaping negative thought patterns, I help clients develop healthier perspectives and behaviors that support their well-being.
Sometimes our thoughts come in the way of sleep. I have used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi) , which is an evidence-based approach that addresses the thoughts and behaviors contributing to chronic sleep difficulties. I use CBTi to help individuals identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and habits that interfere with sleep, such as worry about not sleeping or inconsistent sleep routines. CBTi involves techniques like sleep restriction, stimulus control, relaxation strategies, and cognitive restructuring to create healthier sleep patterns. This approach is particularly effective for individuals struggling with insomnia, whether it's standalone or co-occurring with anxiety, depression, or other conditions. By focusing on the root causes of sleep disturbances and developing practical strategies, CBTi helps clients achieve better, more restorative sleep over time.
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) because it is client-centered, goal-oriented, and focuses on solutions rather than problems. It aligns with my approach of empowering clients by highlighting their strengths and resources to create meaningful and lasting change. It’s also efficient and evidence-based, making it effective for clients who want to see progress in a relatively short time. Additionally, I value how collaborative and strengths-based SFBT is, as it allows clients to feel hopeful and take ownership of their growth.
I use components of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), such as mindfulness, cognitive defusion, values clarification, and acceptance techniques, selectively to help clients develop psychological flexibility and align their actions with their core value
I use Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) to ensure clients feel safe, respected, and empowered. I incorporate Gentry’s Resiliency Model to help clients develop emotional regulation, self-awareness, and stress management skills. As a Certified Child-Centered Play Therapist (CCPT), I use play therapy to create a supportive environment for children to process and heal from trauma. I focus on a strengths-based approach, highlighting clients' resilience and fostering hope. I also integrate mindfulness and grounding techniques to help clients manage trauma-related symptoms effectively.
