I am a licensed marriage and family therapist who has worked with many families, adults, and children to assist with anxiety, depression, ADHD, narcissistic abuse, and trauma. Additionally, I have worked as an assessor, making diagnoses and treatment recommendations. My passion is working with adult and adolescent populations to assist with empowering, coaching and helping them meet their goals as well. I received my graduate degree from Carlos Albizu University in 2005 and I have been licensed since 2009.
In our first session together, I like to build rapport, learn about symptoms, help develop a treatment plan and inquire about client expectations.
My biggest strengths are having compassion and empathy. I try to make my sessions pleasant by instilling humor when appropriate. My goal is to assist my clients as best as I can while creating a comfortable and familiar space. I am very direct in my approach when working with individuals.
I used cognitive behavioral therapy in order to assist and encourage individuals to develop coping skills, change negative thoughts and behaviors.
Through psycho education, I assist clients with providing information and knowledge with regards to their illness as well as make any suggestions for resources in the community if needed.
I utilize the client's Christian faith within the sessions if the individual is requesting it.
