I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania. I earned my Master's degree from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania and have been practicing as a counselor for over 3 years. I have experience working with individuals from as young as 4 to 60+ years old. I understand the courage it can take to begin counseling; allowing another person into your life with the trust that they will provide a safe, trustworthy space to share feelings and experiences. I am committed to giving my all in every session. I will help you use evidence- based therapy interventions to make meaningful changes in your life.
In the first session, I will ask you to tell me about yourself and what changes you would like to make. I will explain what you can expect throughout treatment so you can make an informed decision about ongoing treatment with me.
I am committed to being completely present mentally and emotionally at all times in your treatment. I never want my clients to feel as though I am the "expert" as they are the experts in their own lives. I care deeply about my effect on the lives of the individuals I treat.
I find Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to be a good evidence-based treatment to begin addressing symptoms relating to anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and everyday stress.
To me, trauma refers to a negative life experience that has altered a person's emotional and physical wellbeing. Trauma has a large effect on beliefs about the self and the world.
I am a certified TF-CBT therapist and have a lot of confidence in this evidence-based treatment for individuals aged 21 and under experiencing symptoms of trauma.
This approach is a wonderful way to make quick and meaningful changes without digging deep into past experiences.
Using your individual strengths to make change is empowering and helps grow your independence after you are finished with therapy.
