Hi, I’m Bedelcia Franco and I’ve spent over 15 years helping individuals of all ages navigate the complexities of life. I am a bilingual Latina licensed therapist and I specialize in supporting those dealing with trauma, anxiety, and depression. I use a variety of evidence-based treatments. My approach is always flexible and guided by what resonates best with you. As a certified Perinatal Mental Health professional (PMH-C), I provide support for parents navigating the ups and downs of pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood.
After the first session, clients can expect to have a clearer understanding of their primary concerns and goals for therapy. Together, we will have begun building a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. I will provide an initial framework for treatment, tailored to their needs, and offer strategies or insights they can start applying. Clients will leave with a sense of direction, knowing we are working collaboratively toward their healing and well-being.
My greatest strengths as a provider are my extensive experience in trauma-informed care, my deep knowledge of evidence-based treatments (CBT, DBT, CPT, EMDR), and my ability to tailor approaches to each client’s unique needs. I also bring empathy and a calm, supportive presence, especially when working with clients navigating complex emotions like trauma, anxiety, depression, or perinatal challenges. My integrative approach fosters safety, trust, and effective healing.
I use Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help individuals reframe unhelpful thoughts related to their trauma. By examining and challenging these negative beliefs, clients learn to reduce the emotional impact of their traumatic experiences, leading to healthier thought patterns and improved emotional regulation. CPT is effective for processing trauma and reducing PTSD symptoms.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to treat anxiety and depression by helping clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and beliefs that contribute to their symptoms. Through CBT, clients develop healthier coping strategies, learn to reframe distorted thinking, and engage in behaviors that promote emotional well-being, leading to reduced anxiety and depression.
I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to treat trauma by helping clients process distressing memories in a safe and structured way. Through guided eye movements or tapping, EMDR helps desensitize the emotional intensity of traumatic experiences, allowing clients to reprocess these memories, reduce PTSD symptoms, and develop healthier beliefs about themselves and their past.
I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to treat depression, anxiety, and trauma by helping clients build skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT supports clients in managing overwhelming emotions, reducing harmful behaviors, and increasing resilience, leading to improved emotional balance and healthier responses to life’s challenges.
In therapy for grief and loss, I provide a compassionate space for clients to explore their emotions and process their pain. I help individuals navigate the stages of grief, honor their feelings, and find meaning in their experiences. Using integrative approaches, I support clients in developing coping strategies, adjusting to life changes, and moving toward healing and acceptance at their own pace.
