I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about helping individuals and families reach their fullest potential. This can be done by establishing a personal toolkit that will enable you, not only to survive but to thrive amid life's struggles and challenges, while becoming a stronger and healthier member of your community. I have worked as a clinician since 2005, and I specialize in providing sound clinical counseling for adolescents (age 12 and older) and adults. I am motivated by a set of values with a special focus on mood, depression, anxiety, trauma, and ADHD. I believe reaching out for support shows your strength and determination. You deserve to live your best life, which includes addressing symptoms and problems and character strengths to enhance your overall well-being. I welcome the opportunity to work with you.
In our first session we would start with brief introductions. Then I will facilitate an intake questionnaire/psychosocial, which will allow me to get to know you better and also determine what your goals are and the reason(s) that led you to reach out. I would also be able to answer any questions you may have. After your initial intake is complete, moving forward, my goal is to help you live a more fulfilling life. That includes a better relationship with yourself and others, and that starts by increasing your emotional intelligence and self-awareness.
I believe that meeting a client where they are and working with their strengths is one of the most effective parts of my therapeutic approach. My specialties include: -Generalized Anxiety -Social Anxiety -Performance Anxiety -Depression -ADD, ADHD -Self Worth/Self Esteem -Trauma -Mindfulness -Parental Psychoeducation -Stress Management -Men Issues
I have utilized CBT in my practice since 2006 with various populations. It can help you to identify, cognitive distortions (exaggerated or irrational thoughts) and replace these thoughts with more realistic and objective ones. CBT has been shown to be an effective form of treatment for a variety of concerns, including depression, ADHD, anxiety and more.
We will explore and implement healthy communication styles to improve relationships around you. We will also identify strengths and weaknesses in order to maximize what works for you and minimize what does not.
