I have been in the psychology field for over 20 years. I have an extensive background treating public safety, military, hospital personnel and there families for trauma, work related stressors and family issues. I have treated people who have survived trauma and I am also a trauma survivor. I have worked substance abuse treatment facilities and both inpatient and out patient psychiatric hospitals treating moderate to severe mental heath problems. I take time with my clients and treat them with the care I would want my family to be treated with. I use the techniques required for each individual circumstance in order to reach the optimum result.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

in the first session it is important to get to know each other along with the presenting issue(s). I like to get right to work on the presenting problem from the first session. I believe that from the first session each client should leave with coping skills to help decrease their distress level. I will not push you harder than you can go and believe in meeting the client where they are at not where I am at.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Due to my time in the field and vast experience nothing suprises me. I have seen, heard or dealt most things in the field. You cannot put a price tage on experience. I have also lived life and have experienced many things myself that clients come into my office wanting help with. I don't know about you but I like getting help from those that have treated the issues in the past or have gone through it themselves versus reading it in books.
