Hi there! I'm Gily and I am glad you found me. Are you a mama feeling the invisible load of motherhood? Are you finding it hard to connect with your family and children because of burnout? Or are you a new mama feeling overwhelmed with life with a new baby? As a mother myself, I can say I’ve been on the other side of the motherhood trenches (and still am from time to time) and there’s nothing more isolating than navigating parenthood with limited support. I help mothers in all stages of their motherhood helping to regain joy and control back into their lives. Parenting is not easy, and together we can identify ways to overcome specific challenges and stressors. With my client-centered and nurturing approach, I'll provide you with a safe place, free from shame and judgment, for you to share your feelings. Whether you have a strong-willed child, suffer from depression or anxiety, carry most of the child-rearing tasks, or simply need someone to talk to, I'm here for you. Together we can get you to be the mother you want to be.
In the first session with me I will want to get to know you and your challenges. I really want to understand what you are struggling with so I can best help you. This means I will ask different questions and I will also be mindful of not making you feel overwhelm with loads of questions. I will also allow you the space to ask me questions related to my experience working with clients with your similar challenges, my expertise and anything related to my experience as a therapist.
Because I am a parent myself I can relate to the challenges and burnout parents face day to day. I've worked with parents in different modalities; support groups, individual sessions, family sessions, and as a school advocate for parents of children with academic needs. If you find that I am not in network with your insurance carrier, please visit www.wellnesspcounseling.com or email me at wellnesspcounseling@gmail.com to discuss other ways to support you.
I utilize many interventions from CBT to help individuals gain a new perspective about their thoughts/behaviors/feelings. Our behaviors are influenced by how we think and see the world. Creating change for ourselves may require gaining a new of way of thinking. CBT has helped me be able to treat disorders such as depression, anxiety and perinatal mood disorders.
