I have a dedicated 24 years of social services experience, with 14 years of outpatient clinical experience. I started my career as a mentor for youth, in local non-for-profit programs. I then advanced to other comprehensive roles, with interchangeable titles, that ultimately focused on youth development and mentorship. I received my BA in Psychology at Purdue University & MA at the University of Chicago, School of Social Administration. Immediately, upon the end of graduate school, I began my experience with outpatient mental health therapy. Since, I have fulfilled a spectrum of diversified clinical roles, that include home-based, outpatient, inpatient, and telehealth therapy for vast developmental range- from early childhood to late adulthood. This includes specialty treatment with various therapy modalities, such as CBT, ACT, DBT, PST.
In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions, and then discuss matters that are concerning you the most. You can expect to spend about 60 minutes providing details about your life, that will help guide your treatment, and tailor goals that works best for you.
Having worked with clients, like yourself, that were seeking emotional relief, I have refined the skill of validating the client as the expert of their life, while (1) getting to the root of the problem and (2) collaborating on measurable treatment goals to determine when therapy is no longer needed. Ultimately, I employ a holistic approach that combines therapy and collaboration to help the client manage symptoms, improve coping mechanisms, and enhance overall well-being.
CBT is the most common clinical approach to most mental health conditions. I have found that clients have been successfully responsive to this approach, more often than not. I borrow from various evidenced-based sources to implement a treatment plan tailored to the client's needs and improve the quality of life.
CBT-SP is a specialized therapy approach to address the risk of suicidality. I have routinely implemented this evidenced-based manualized therapy exclusively for 2 years, in an effort to support the national suicide prevention initiative. I have professionally witnessed the proven results of the efficacy of this therapy to reduce suicide risk and thus, save lives.
I have discovered the usefulness and applicability of ACT to most mental, as well as physical, conditions. This is a treatment approach that I have honed over the last 13 years, by consistent implementation- professionally and personally.
I have witnessed 10 years of successful outcomes, with adults and adolescence, and the implementation of the DBT modality for multicomplex mental health conditions in residential and outpatient settings.
