New to Grow
I am a naturally inquisitive person I am here to build a warm and safe space. I enjoy working with clients who have a desire to gain insight into themselves build self-compassion, functional coping skills, and healthy boundaries. I offer client-centered, humanistic, queer-affirming, and culturally sensitive treatment. I also come from a scientific background and utilize this knowledge to give insight.
The first session will be mostly background information about yourself and your presenting concern(s). We will also complete some necessary paperwork. Depending on time, we may then start to work on whatever presenting concern(s) brought you into therapy. The first session is an opportunity for us to begin to form a therapeutic alliance (to "join"). This includes me getting to know you as a person beyond simply your presenting concern(s). You also are encouraged to ask me any questions you might have about myself or the process of therapy.
I want my clients to know that I am a real person and I want clients to be their real selves. This includes using humor and talking however you genuinely talk (swearing included, if relevant!).
My ideal client is someone who is prepared to show up authentically to their sessions (or who wants to, and needs help doing so). I enjoy working with clients who may feel they have never found a good fit in a therapist before. I feel I am a good fit for anyone who needs a therapist who is flexible on what a session may contain--for example, that one week we may be diving deep into coping skills and the next week we spent a good portion talking about your passions/special interests and how they relate to your life. I am here to meet you where you are and support you in whatever way you need.

CBT methods are very useful for tackling anxiety symptoms as well as helping a variety of other presenting problems. I like to mix CBT techniques in with other more human-centered therapies to serve as useful tools in the toolbox.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
EFT is useful for both individuals and couples therapy to address attachment related concerns and needs, delve into a client's emotional landscape, and for each client to feel they are met with unconditional positive regard.
Gender-affirming therapy
I work from a gender-affirming stance and I can help clients seeking support related to gender transition.
