Hello. I'm a National Board Certified, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) based in North Carolina. I'm also a National Certified Anger Management Specialists (CAMS-II). I received my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and have been practicing for 6 years. I help children and adults struggling with mental health symptoms to become the best versions of themselves.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, explanation would be given about privacy practices and expectations of the therapy process, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. Our first encounter may last one hour. This will help me to develop a holistic view of you to provide better assistance in follow-up sessions.
Having worked with children and adults for the past 6 years, I've found ways to help you determine the root of your challenges and partner with you to develop a plan that leads to measurable progress.
I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past six years. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you to increase functioning and have a more fulfilling life.
I was recently selected to participate in a training Cohort for Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) through the NC Child Treatment Program. TF-CBT focuses on youth ages 3-18 and their non-offending caregiver. The focus of treatment is for youth experiencing symptoms directly related to traumatic events and targets posttraumatic, depressive and behavioral symptoms.
