In my 7 years as a social worker, compassion and understanding have always been at the cornerstone of the work that I do with my clients. Our sessions will not be the exception to this. My primary goal in any therapeutic relationship is to build rapport with my clients. I want to get to know you so that I know how best to support you where you are. Earning your trust is another important goal. When sharing personal and private aspects of one’s life, trust is essential in the person feeling safe and validated. After each session, I want my clients to have felt heard and validated.
My personal belief is that everyone has the ability to live the life they envision for themselves. My goal as a therapist is to support that vision by empowering my clients and equipping them with the necessary tools to make positive changes in their lives. Therefore, I utilize a client-centered therapy approach with all of my clients by meeting them wherever they are in their lives. My therapeutic interventions include: CBT (Cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) Solution-Focused Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy.
My specializations include: treating mood disorders, anxiety, trauma and issues surrounding identity and self-esteem. With that said, I possess an intuition that enables me to help my clients develop a deeper understanding of who they are.
