I'm a therapist with nearly twenty years of experience. Most of my experience has been in a community mental health agency, with work in the outpatient and residential treatment programs. I have worked primarily with adults who have issues with anxiety, depression, and addiction. I believe therapy can be helpful in enhancing life and improving quality of life.
I believe clients need to feel heard and validated in their experiences. I also believe in setting behavior goals after each session of things to work on prior to next session. The feeling of making progress can be inspiring and motivating.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness.
I love helping clients learn and become more knowledgeable about themselves and the techniques they can use to feel better. Several aspects of anxiety, including control and perfectionism, can be addressed in session and clients can learn how to minimize these traits, practicing those skills between sessions.
