Hi there! I'm Courtney. I received my Masters from St. Edwards University and have been practicing for four years. I work with couples and adult individuals, offering virtual therapy to Colorado & Texas residents. My specialty areas include relational issues & dynamics, anxiety, people pleasing & self-growth. I am here to support you in creating meaningful change and deeper connections.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, whether you're coming in for individual or couples therapy, clients can expect a welcoming and open environment where we focus on establishing safety and building familiarity with one another. I view this session as an opportunity for us to "get to know" each other, laying the foundation for a strong therapeutic relationship. The connection we build in this initial meeting is one of the most important aspects of therapy, as it helps to create trust and openness moving forward. During this time, we’ll discuss your goals for therapy, explore any immediate concerns, and begin to clarify how we can work together to address your needs. Above all, the first session is about creating a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported as we start this journey together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a therapist is approaching every session as a human first, creating a space where you feel seen, heard, and validated. I prioritize safety and connection, ensuring that you feel comfortable sharing your emotions, no matter how difficult they may be. I genuinely care about the person (or people) in front of me and am committed to helping you navigate challenges by identifying effective coping strategies and fostering resilience. Together, we'll build a partnership rooted in trust and empathy.

My treatment methods

Couples Counseling

In my practice as both an individual and couples therapist, I use couples therapy as a framework to view and understand relational dynamics in a more holistic and systemic way. I approach the work not only with a focus on the individuals within the relationship but also on the relationship itself, treating it as a unique system with its own set of patterns, communication styles, and dynamics

Gottman method

The Gottman approach offers evidence-based strategies to help couples build a solid foundation of trust, respect, and intimacy. I use Gottman’s principles to help partners understand the importance of turning toward each other rather than away during moments of conflict, and I guide them in learning healthy ways to manage disagreements.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I incorporate Mindfulness-Based Therapy to help clients cultivate greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations in the present moment. This approach encourages clients to observe their experiences without judgment, which can reduce anxiety, increase emotional regulation, and promote a sense of acceptance.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I focus on providing unconditional positive regard, empathy, and congruence to help clients explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgment. This approach encourages clients to develop greater self-awareness and self-acceptance, allowing them to tap into their own inner resources for change.

Trauma Informed Care

I recognize that trauma can manifest in many forms—emotional, physical, or psychological—and often affects how individuals perceive themselves and interact with the world. By integrating trauma-informed principles, I focus on helping clients feel empowered, validated, and in control of their healing process.
