New to Grow
I am a compassionate and empathetic Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I work with individuals of all ages to overcome negative thoughts, make sense of overwhelming emotions, and find healthier ways to respond to each. I flexibly incorporate a variety of person-centered, strengths-based approaches to best meet the needs of the individuals I serve. I am a non-denominational Christian and often work with other believers who wish to incorporate their biblical values in sessions.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we will get to know each other, explore what is bringing you to therapy, and ensure that we are a good fit for each other. We will also discuss your goals for therapy and determine how often we will meet. For clients who are minors, I will meet with parents for the first session to gather background information, learn more about the challenges your family and your child are facing, decide on the frequency of our sessions, and determine our goals for working together.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am passionate about the holistic health of the individuals that I work with. It is my honor and privilege to partner with clients and their families throughout the therapeutic process of healing, growth, and overall well-being. My commitment to clients is to create a safe, trusting, and supportive environment that honor’s their dignity, self-worth, and self-determination.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work with adolescent through adult individuals. I enjoy working with individuals who are willing to explore their strengths, as well as their weakness, and who seek growth and lasting change. They are open to uncovering the root of their issues, breaking unhealthy thought and behavioral patterns, and learning to lead their emotions instead of being led by their emotions.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients identify how their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions interact and impact their well-being. Together, we practice identifying cognitive distortions, automative negative thoughts, and underlying core beliefs that impact a client's perception of their world, their relationships, and their daily functioning. We practice identifying and modifying thoughts to create truer, more accuarte ways of thinking, changing harmful or maladaptive behaviors to more adaptive behaviors, and develop emotional maturity to better understand, manage, and express emotions.
Christian Counseling
I utilize Christian faith teachings and biblical integration for holistic treatment of body, soul, and spirit. I combine evidence-based practice of psychology with faith-based treatment.
