I truly believe each individual is the expert on their own life and trust that through treatment, they will learn more about themselves and gain confidence as they contribute in their healing process. My vision for therapy is to aid each client in gaining awareness about who they are and how they came to be with an empathic and client centered approach.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

From the first session, it is my goal to make the client feel seen and heard through an informal discussion about the client's life. I believe that for therapy to be effective, the client must feel comfortable and safe. I highly encourage all client's to seek a therapist who is a good match for them. I also believe that the client is the expert on the "client;" my goal is to learn about the client from the client while teaching them techniques to help them meet their therapeutic goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I hope that my empathic approach and active listening skills will result in each patient having a positive therapeutic experience.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have worked with client's from many different ethnic backgrounds and have experience in working with adults, children and families. My training has focused on trauma informed treatment, attachment disruption and early childhood mental health issues. It is my mission to continue to contribute to the communities that inspired me to become a therapist.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT to aid clients in understanding how our thoughts affect our emotions and behaviors. I have been utilizing CBT interventions for the 11 years I have been practicing.

Couples Counseling

I have been providing couples counseling for about 5 years and enjoy helping couples learn to communicate in a way that will allow each person to feel heard.

Psychoeducation

I provide psychoeducation to help clients understand different aspects of their symptoms.

Attachment-based

Much of my training has focused on attachment disruption and how this affects the individual as they grow and into adulthood.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I often find that most people are not able to identify their emotions. Throughout treatment, I work to aid client in identifying emotions and how these feelings contribute to problem thoughts and behaviors.
