Hi! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in NY. A former marketing executive who needed to find a career with meaning, where I was making a real difference in people's lives, rather than selling them a new product. After major burnout and several personal traumas, I made a decision to help others who experienced trauma in their lives and were not living a full, happy life as a result.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session how we can best work together. I would want to learn about what is important to you and what goals you want to achieve in therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with first responders and military personnel for the last three years, I've learned that not everyone has an easy time opening up and expressing themselves. I pride myself on making clients comfortable in our sessions and allowing them the time they need to realize their needs and be able to express what they want in their lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

The following methods are used in my practice: thought monitoring which teaches the client to track their thoughts, especially those that occur during distressing situations and cognitive restructuring, where you will challenge these distorted thoughts and replace them with more realistic, balanced thoughts.

Couples Counseling

I spend time understanding the relationship's dynamics, exploring the ways the partners interact with each other, both in positive and negative ways. I use a variety of questionnaires, interviews, or structured assessments to gather more information about the couple’s history, patterns of conflict, emotional needs, and relational satisfaction. I remain neutral and guide the couple toward acceptance and willingness to grow together to accomplish their goals.

Integrative

My integrative approach includes holistic understanding and a client centered. At the beginning of treatment, I conduct a thorough assessment, which includes understanding the client’s emotional, psychological, and physical health, life history, and any relevant social or cultural factors. I will ask about the client’s goals, values, and preferences. This is a key aspect of integrative therapy, as it emphasizes collaboration between the client and myself in deciding on the best therapeutic approach.
